fixed this particular issue, but I agree that there is still room for the improvement of the search function.

Search persistance confusing
Try this:
Go to the tags page:
- Click on a tag
- Click on the browser back button
- Click on another tag
You get a list of (only) questions that have both tags. This is counter-intuitive - I would expect a list of questions that have the tag I just clicked on.

To make matters more confusing, searches that return no items do not list the current tags, so it could be very unclear what the problem is.
For example: http://askbot.org/en/questions/?tags=notags
