Currently, it is a command line driven process to add someone as a admin and it requires jumping through hoops a bit (finding out the id in the db etc) and I would prefer if the process was much more easier. Here is a proposal

  • The first person logs in via the web interface is automatically designated as the admin

  • The admin is allowed to add others as admin via the gui in the exact workflow as admins are allowed to add others as moderators

That's it.

I guess you mean 0.7.18. Is the first user automatically added as admin too? mether ( 2011-08-13 03:43:44 -0500 )edit
No, the first user is not admin automatically yet, forgot about this. Evgeny ( 2011-08-14 00:46:25 -0500 )edit

Thanks, this was done a few days ago, but not merged yet to the master branch. I will do it today, we will also make it more obvious which features are on the line, so that you and others could pick them up. Evgeny ( 2011-08-27 08:51:47 -0500 )edit

It would be useful to have some sort of clear ROADMAP on what features you are working on so that we can look into contributing patches for the ones that aren't a high priority for you personally. A list of tasks ordered by expected difficulty - easy, medium and long term for instance would be very helpful. I keep track of the main branch but I can't do that easily for the feature branches.
