Delayed sending of emails (in case of minor updates)?

At AskSage, I frequently get two or three emails in rapid succession because someone posts a question or answer, realizes they've made a typo (or bad formatting, etc) and fixes it. I also have generated a number of emails this way myself :(

This could be prevented if there was some short wait between an event that generates an email and the actual sending of the email -- say two minutes -- with new edits resetting the clock and only the latest version of the post being sent in email. Depending on how the email events are triggered, this may or may not be a huge hassle.

An alternate idea is to have a "Minor edit (does not generate email)" checkbox next to the submit button for edits. Then typo fixes wouldn't generate new email (on the down side, only the initial versions of posts would be sent).
