I can't remember exactly how I got to this state, but here's where I am.
I'm logged in as Admin. If I go to my home page (/questions/) there is a banner that says: "Thanks for the feedback!" and it wants me to sign if. (I left feedback for myself, as the admin, a few minutes ago.)
If I go to any other page, including sign in, it recognizes that I'm logged in.
But if I go back to the home page, it thinks I'm unauthenticated and gives me the banner "Thanks for the feedback!". If I dismiss it, it still pops up and I'm still unauthenticated each time I return.
How would I diagnose the source of this error?

I logged out and logged back in. Now it sees me as authenticated whenever I go to the "User Login" page. All other pages it thinks I'm not logged in. I don't know how to get out of this state.
