Can you explain about the business aspects behind AskBot?
Some general questions (Feel free to partially answer or refuse to answer any of these):
- Is it a company? For-profit?
- Has it raised any sort of funding? Is it paying salaries?
- What is its current/planned business model? Where does/will it make money?
- What are the company growth plans (personnel-wise)?
- How much money does it make?

No problems.
Askbot is a for-profit company, Askbot SpA (not Spa with a steam room, but a sociedad por acciones:), registered in Chile. We participated in the Startup Chile program last year, where an equivalent of ~40,000 USD was invested. Part was spent on development of the core software and part on the hosting platform.
Currently we are paying two salaries. We earn more than we spend :), won't be naming numbers. Not planning to hire more people until the revenue can support more employees. At this point we are not planning to raise investment either.
Our sources: consulting work on askbot and hosting. We have never needed to take a consulting job not related to askbot, we might do that, when really necessary. There will be changes in what we offer, we'll announce that when we have something to show.
