So just now I came across this question, which appears to be a duplicate of this question.
I saw that I had the ability to close the question, so I did so, marking it as a duplicate.
When I noticed that I was unable to indicate which post the question is a duplicate of, I tried to re-open the question.
However, even though I have well over the required 50 karma, I was unable to reopen the question:

Either I'm not reading the error message correctly (the > 50 karma requirement only applies to the post owner), or the karma check for reopening a question is not being done correctly.
Also, shouldn't the error message say "karma" instead of "reputation"?
