Is there any potential problem if use MyISAM engine in production environment?

As the subject. By using MyISAM is safe for production environment? And does it affect future upgrade?

Yes, the potential problem is due to lack of transactions in that engine and the database may end up in inconsistent state.

We have a number of users we support who are on MySQL, so far no major problems, however I plan to migrate them to Postgres and definitely would not recommend MySQL for the new deployments.
