what is the status of skinning?
 

It seems a bit convoluted to use a long custom css file when I just want to override a few values. Is something better coming along?

To enter a block of code:

  • enter empty line after your previous text
  • paste or type the code
  • select the code and press the button above

You can create a file called custom.css inside the same directory that has style.css and do anything you want inside. Will that work for you?

Also it is possible to enter custom css in the settings -> skin and user interface settings.

To enter a block of code:

  • enter empty line after your previous text

  • select the code and press the button above

Is it possible to inherit the existing css and override just a few values via the admin interface? If so, that would be ideal since I only need to backup the database.

alright. will try that out. I have been trying that out but didn't realize it will inherit from the default css and I don't have to set everything again

Yes, the default css will still be loaded and the custom style sheets applied after.
