comet programming is essentially a way to provide a more "live" feel to the website by updating instantly.  One example of whether this is useful:  Let's say I am answering a question and someone else answers the same question, I would get a update informing me of the answer before I press enter or do a refresh. So if I am posting a similar answer, I could stop.  Such a style is shown to keep users more engaged.  Refer to <http://quora.com> for such a website

        If we are talking about a few coming weeks - maybe something very simple - like an orange message box like the one that greets a new user - with an info that there are updates. I want to avoid talking big and getting little done :).
