Spam in user profiles

We have some users signing up for an account and putting spam in their profile description for the SEO links.

I can already "block" those users, but how can I remove the profile from public view so it isn't indexed?

This is an excellent point. We'll need to allow admins edit profiles of blocked and suspended users.

Is it easier that blocked users don't appear in the "people" list view?

Fix to this is available in the master branch on github, and deployed on the hosted sites (excluding this one:).

When you change status of the spammer's account to "blocked", these things will happen:

  • "homepage url" and "about" sections will be hidden
  • user's account won't appear on the "users" page

What will not change at the moment:

  • the account itself will stay in the system
  • user's content stays in the system too - will need to be deleted separately

We'll make this update available in the next release.

@Jtrain above is one of the silliest comments I've made, I should not be posting late at night in the melted brain state :). Sorry.
