How does "post anonymously" feature work?

If a question is asked by anonymous and someone, say MichaelJ, answers, then you see on the main page that the question was modified by anonymous, but it was MichaelJ.

This is how the feature works. Anonymous here is a "masked registered user".

This is the only form of anonymity that askbot supports currently.

ok. but the user who answers is not anonymous despite that he is also masked . it's not important. thanks
