Does askbot support attachment of other files apart from images, I'm trying to attach a document to a post and it doesn't work, any suggestions
Add values to ASKBOT_ALLOWED_UPLOAD_FILE_TYPES variable in your settings.py to allow upload of other file types.
What if you are paying askbot for hosting and don't have access?

Could you please update the answer with how this setting can be controlled now? Was it added to the web UI?

Define "doesn't work". Do you get an error message? Does it just fail silently? Can you post a screenshot?
