When creating a question or answer, there are various markdown options shown at the top. However, I believe there are much more options available, e.g. backticks for in-line code and @username for mentioning users.

Unfortunately, its difficult to find information about this. Hence, I suggest to add a description or link to a full documentation - all options are listed - in the FAQ or help section by default.

This comes really handy when writing comments, since in this case the markdown options are not shown.
