2013-02-01 16:43:19 -0500 | commented answer | Add new user confirm email not working Hi Oscar, I did have the SMTP settings in my settings.py, pointing to my mail server and port. I am still testing to see if exim was required. Looking into a few other options such as DNS fully-qualified names and spam filtering, but at this point, just happy it's working! Thanks for the suggestion. |

2013-02-01 15:37:27 -0500 | asked a question | Askbot validation code email generation I think this may be an easy question, but I can't seem to find the answer. Currently, when adding a new user to my Q&A site, the mail account validation email is missing both protocol and server information. Does anyone know how askbot is populating these settings, and how to change the configuration to add these? Right now, the validation link is showing ://account/verify-email/?validation_code=xyzabc123... |
2013-02-01 12:44:26 -0500 | answered a question | Add new user confirm email not working Not sure if this is necessary, but I installed exim4-daemon-light via apt-get install and went through the dpkg configuration options, and was able to get my askbot server to communicate with my primary SMTP server. I am now getting email validations sent, but the new problem is that the verify-email link appears to be missing the host and protocol info. ://account/verify-email/?validation_code=blahblahblah |
2013-02-01 11:01:19 -0500 | asked a question | Add new user confirm email not working Add new user confirm email not working I don't think the Validation email is being sent because it doesn't appear to be hitting our mail server. I also tried typing in my email address, and clicking confirm email and I get the following error Sorry, registration failed. Please ask the site administrator for help. Is there any way to turn on logging, or log files I can open that might give a clue as to what's happening and why? |

2013-01-23 13:22:05 -0500 | asked a question | Is there a way to set a default karma level on new users I am getting ready to implement a Q&A site, and I want any new user to have the ability to upload files. However, Askbot is saying file uploading requires karma > 10. Or, alternatively, is there a config file where I can remove these restrictions? |

2013-01-10 14:54:25 -0500 | asked a question | I cannot find askbot-setup file in Linux I have installed askbot pip install askbot I have also installed python-dev via package manager I have searched the file system but cannot find this setup file. I know that I can manually go through the config files. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this, and if I need to do anything for this setup script to be installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |
