One of the reasons I was able to attract so many users on my OSQA site was that email notifications were on by default.

Each time someone commented or answered something you participated on, you got an email by default, unless you shut it off.

How do I get this behavior from askbot? It's crucial.

I get this error when I first run my server:

SettingNotSet: ("Startup error, couldn't load EXTERNAL_KEYS.RECAPTCHA_SECRET", None)

I got this error both with askbot 0.7.43 or askbot-devel.

Which version of Askbot should I use?

How stable is the -devel trunk?

The documentation offers the opportunity to use sphinx search. However, it appears that there is search functionality even without sphinx installed.

How does adding sphinx improve / extend the default search functionality?

The install instructions here say:

Deprecated since version 0.7.21: When the script asks you if you want to create a superuser, answer no.

These instructions are confusing. If I am running 0.7.29, should I create a superuser or not?
