We'll do it soon. Filed it under http://bugs.askbot.org/issues/99 , could you take a look?

As proposed, the settings (reputation minima, vote limits, and badges) but not others will change only when the "mode" (we need to come up with a better name) is changed.

This change will overwrite certain settings without being able to undo.
