problem with converting answer into comment

Glad to see this implemented and we are using this at http://ask.fedoraproject.org however there is a problem. Let's consider a typical user

1) User asks a question 2) Someone provides a answer 3) Users says "thanks. it worked" or something similar as an answer 4) Someone with admin rights or whatever converts into a comment

Problem: Comment gets associated with the question that the user asked instead of the answer that someone gave. How can we fix this? Ideally, there is some smartness built into the system and it would give me a option.
