Relationship with OSQA

How is askbot related to OSQA?
What are the differences?

I'm currently researching open source Q&A sites to start an in-house site.

Hey Oreon,

The relationship with osqa is a matter of the past. I've worked on OSQA project for about a month and a half and then decided to stop - because I did not like many things about how OSQA operates and treats my contribution.

Askbot brings a promise of delivering a stable product, albeit maybe with less features.

Askbot aims to be a mashable django application that will easily co-exist and co-operate with other applications (even non-django or python-based) running at the site.

Funny to read this 5 years later. Nowadays AskBot seems to have way more features than OSQA. :)

It sounds like you have ruled out the possibility and merging future OSQA/CNProg enhancements with Askbot? ie.. this is a permanent fork? thanks for info..

hey, sorry I was away all day (had a long flight). Yes from OSQA split is permanent the original CNPROG - most likely too. I should probably explain it in more detail because many people ask me about it - rightly so.
