Links in comments

I tried putting links in a comment in the site using the standard markdown syntax [text]( but it consistently failed. I also tried using basic html, which also failed. I know that a url is automatically turned into a link, but that's not what I really want.

Since I don't have the reputation to test a comment here, I'll just ask the question:

How do you create links in a comment?

A markdown link to [google]( fails, but an automatically linked url works!

There is no support for markdown in the comments yet. It must be minimal, for example headings should not be allowed. Added to feature requests.

Yeah, that would be great. Also being able to upvote comments would be nice, ala Why is this a larger font?

The font issue will go away with the next upgrade. Now you can add simple markdown to the comments. The comment upvoting is already solved, I will deploy it on your site today.
