configure robots settings

Ability to do this via the admin settings would be useful. Maybe also add support for editing the sitemap.

There is a "robots" app installed with askbot. You should be able to access it via django admin interface - url /admin/.

Personally I find this robots app too complicated to use and I'd prefer what you suggest - just a plain text window for editing of the robots.txt contents.

Why do you want to edit the site map? Could you give an example - what you might want to edit there?

Plain text window would do. for sitemaps, you typically edit attributes change frequency, priority, inclusion of urls etc. refer to http://help.godaddy.com/article/3646#one for an example
