Issue while installing askbot-0.7.23
 
   
  
 
 
Downloaded latest tar ball from PyPI http://pypi.python.org/pypi/askbot/#downloads "askbot-0.7.23.tar.gz".  Checksum looks correct.
 
md5sum askbot-0.7.23.tar.gz
1e1e248545c17680dd692b9d9c544ea0  askbot-0.7.23.tar.gz
 
However, "tar xvfz askbot-0.7.23.tar.gz" terminated prematurely with:
 
askbot-0.7.23/askbot/bin/show_profile_stats.py
askbot-0.7.23/askbot/bin/test_permission_assertions
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors <<<<<<

 
Any suggestions?

Ended up unzipping it using winzip on my Windows XP desktop, and then transferred the directory to my Rhel 5 64bit server.

There must be some issues in your RHEL box with tar.

Hi @openbob I tried the same way as you and it works I have tar (GNU tar) 1.25.
 
Can you try with other uncompression software? or is this on a server? 
 
Does it works to untar a different archive?
