Removing footer messages
 
   
  
 
 
Hi
 
If I amend the code, can I remove from the footer "Powered by Askbot version 0.7.39" and the license message?

Of course, no problems with that, as long as you don't change the license of the source code.

@Evgeny. Sorry for my naive question, but I always had this question since I am not very experienced with open source projects. What do you mean by "dont change the license of the source code"?
