How to extend comments beyond 300 characters?

Some of my comments easily exceed 300 characters limit. I aware there a way of extended it. I just do know what is the exact location. Can you provide me further details?

I currently using Askbot version 0.7.43

It's in the "settings" -> "data entry and display rules" -> "maximum comment length"

In "settings" -> "data entry and display rules" -> "maximum comment length" I've entered "2000", but maximum comment length seems to be 1000 (like in this page askbot.org). If I enter 1000 characters, I can see, below the textarea, "1000" characters left, but I cannot type anymore characters.

I am also trying to get around the apparent 1000 character cap. Any progress on this?

I know its very late for a answer. Even if you change the "maximum comment length" in the "settings" page. But still the comment will be capped with a 1000 character limit.

To overcome this you need to change the post.js file in the themes folder.
