Hi, In the past weeks, I've reported several bugs using this website, but that's obviously not optimal. Please enable issue tracking on your github so you can keep better track of bugs there!
I'm going to resist this request, because I don't want to look at yet another thing. Bugs are tracked here, even though not exclusively.
Maybe a dedicated bug tracker does a better job at that, but people will continue to post bug reports in both places and we would like to have just one until (and if that happens) traffic on this site will become too high so that we'd need to separate the resources.
I understand your points about having a separate system, here's my opinion :). Askbot's main purpose is a Q&A site. It's not immediately clear for others to find how to find open issues in Askbot. One has to ask what the process is for filtering down questions to see what current bugs there are. Whereas GitHub Issues is more geared towards that purpose already. It's clear that Askbot is becoming more and more popular thanks to yours and other's hard work. When people want to get involved with a cool project, they look at the code, the pull requests, and the issues. I think it would really encourage others to get involved by enabling Issues. Yes, there will be a little more work to keep things in sync, but the benefits would be worth it IMO. We often have a conversation about an issue before ...
To be honest - I understand the technical limitations, but at the same time I don't see the need to track anything! This is because the important issues are by definition are unforgettable. If it pains you - fix it and get over with it.

What can we gain on github bug tracking that we can't achieve here?
Here your bug reports are going to be lost, with time, and you can't keep good track of them. You don't seem to "close" questions either, so you can't list all the open bug reports. Askbot is a complicated project with lots of bugs (not because it's coded badly, but because bugs happen, of course!), and if you don't keep track of them in a very organized way, and with the proper tool, you're gonna forget about them.
To be honest, the only reason the bug reports here sometimes are not served immediately because we had a lot of paid work on improving askbot (all new features were open sourced). I don't feel that another mousetrap will solve the problem of having limited attention resources. When I fish for bug reports - I select tags "bug" and "bugs" and ignore "fixed" and "done". That way you will see all unsolved bugs.
Alright, fair enough if you think you're not missing or forgetting bug reports :)
