Posting more than 5 comments only works after posting additional one
 
   
  
 
 
I observed some weird behaviour when posting a 6th comment.
 
Usually after 5 comments, you see a "see more"-like link.
 
     
  • When I post the 6th comment, it does not appear.
    •  
  • Once I post another 7th comment, the 6th and 7th comment appear.
    •  
  • If I delete the 7th comment again, the 6th comment also disappears.
    •  
  • I can readd and delete the 6th comment be readding and deleting a 7th comment multiple times.
    •  
 
I obviously tried reloading the page after posting the comments. It doesn't change anything.
 
It happens in this post. The question has actually 6 comments. Only adding an additional 7th's displays the 6th. I have also seen the behaviour on other posts.

        Which version of Askbot are you running?  I don't have this problem on my forum, running the latest git source.

        I'm not administring it, but the about page says: powered by ASKBOT version 0.6.74. The admin said he is planning an update in the next couple of days, maybe its fixed then. Unfortunately this does not happen on every post, just occasionally.

        Well, if you look at the footer of this page, it says "powered by ASKBOT version 0.7.7"... that's the first problem, I think.  Difficult to debug old code.
