2014-05-25 16:39:56 -0600 | asked a question | Profile text field in user profile - filter fail It seems that the text filter that renders the "Profile" field in the user profile for 0.7.49 is broken. The HTML isn't rendered, but appears as raw text. Here is an example. I see that it's not a problem here (still on 0.7.48), nor is it on the "testme" askbot site (0.7.49.1). So is it perhaps just an issue with the AskLibO install? Would be good to have it fixed. Thanks! |
2014-03-22 17:37:23 -0600 | commented answer | Where can I find the list of karma thresholds for various actions/privileges? Thanks for the reply, Evgeny. I'm not a site administrator: is this available anywhere else for ordinary users (or in documentation) - like this [StackOverflow version](http://stackoverflow.com/help/privileges). |
2014-03-22 05:00:22 -0600 | asked a question | Where can I find the list of karma thresholds for various actions/privileges? What the question says: I must be blind, but I can't find a list of what reputation level is required for various Askbot tasks and privileges. When I hover over my "value", this information is displayed, so obviously it is in the system somewhere. But I can't find a listing of these, like I can for "Badges", for example. Grateful for any pointers on this one - thanks! |
2014-03-22 04:57:16 -0600 | commented answer | Enhancement suggestion: enable HTML "kbd" tags Sorry for delayed reaction reply: yes, the tag is allowed, but there is no distinct CSS to style it - that was more my point. Or would that be up to individual installs? (I'm active at Ask LibO, btw.) |

2013-11-18 02:18:55 -0600 | asked a question | Enhancement suggestion: enable HTML "kbd" tags On the Q&A Askbot site I most regularly contribute to, I sometimes indicate keyboard input by means of the back-ticks to get the monospace font, e.g. I have noticed that another Q&A implementation gives both code and "kbd" options, with distinct styling. The "kbd" style simply uses the standard HTML tags (with a bit of CSS applied, of course!). It struck me that this would be a simple but useful enhancement for Askbot, too, so note it here as a suggestion. Thanks! |
2013-10-08 07:28:37 -0600 | commented answer | How to override the curtailed answer + "(more)" link in 0.7.49 @Evgeny - any idea when this might come along? It seems that fixing this is down to you! Thanks. ;) |
2013-10-03 13:16:25 -0600 | asked a question | How to override the curtailed answer + "(more)" link in 0.7.49 The strong consensus at the Ask LibreOffice Askbot site, now running 0.7.49, is that the shortened answer + "(more)" link innovation makes for a very unsatisfactory UI. There are several problems with it; for me, one of the worst is that you don't know what information had been offered in any given Q&A thread without opening EVERY "(more)" link on the page. This alone is extremely frustrating; there are other issues with it that I won't list here. In 0.7.49, they would just be hidden behind the "(more)" link anyway. This leads to the basic question, then: how to get rid of it? Preferably this could be done at site level; minimally, it should be user configurable. Ideally (IMO, YMMV, yada yada) it should simply be removed altogether. Thanks! |
2013-09-26 18:19:03 -0600 | commented answer | "Flag offensive" now appearing only with own posts - 0.7.48 That's good to know - thanks for the reassurance! |
2013-09-26 16:45:10 -0600 | asked a question | "Flag offensive" now appearing only with own posts - 0.7.48 I'm active on the Ask.LibreOffice.org site, which at present is using Askbot version 0.7.48. It seems to be the case that the "flag offensive" option beneath a post is only showing up with one's own posts:
What is needed, of course, is the possibility of flagging offensive content from other contributors -- and, in fact, I'm quite sure this functionality worked as expected previously. I don't think it's "just me" (others at ask.libo have noticed this too). Is there a fix? I hope so! |
2013-06-19 18:03:25 -0600 | marked best answer | Should a minor edit bring a Q&A back to the top of the sort order? I am a frequent user of the Askbot instance used by LibreOffice. Whenever I edit an existing answer, Askbot brings that question back to the "top" of the listing. When a major edit is involved, that's entirely appropriate. Sometimes, however, it's simply a typo fix, or to update a URL, or something that could be considered "minor". In these instances, bringing the edited answer to the top of the listing strikes me as inappropriate. My enhancement request: Could the "edit" field have a "minor edit" checkbox, just like on Wikipedia: If the "minor edit" box is checked, Askbot would leave the Q&A in its present position in the sort order, so only significant changes would bring the Q&A back to the top of the listing. Does that idea have some traction with others? |
